Remember Newport Council meeting on Wednesday – attend if you can

The Agenda entry is ‘To welcome Mr Michael Barker (Director of Planning, Telford & Wrekin Council) who will provide an overview of the current large scale planning applications and the consultation process regarding the production of the local plan’.

After he has spoken the meeting will be suspended for up to 30 minutes so that

members of the public can ‘…make representations, answer questions and give evidence in respect of any items of business on the agenda..’.

On the Agenda for the NTC Planning Committee which starts at 6.15 pm on Wednesday night i.e. immediately before the full Town Council meeting, is an item ;-

‘To consider a request from Cllr. Peter Scott :

That we discuss and confirm our stance on the Audley Avenue and Station Road development proposals. There has been a shift of emphasis within the town that the preferred site is Audley Avenue. As our chairman is to represent the corporate view at the public enquiry, it is relevant to see if the recorded view remains unchanged’.

A chance for the people of Newport and surrounding areas to hear what the NTC has to say on these important issues in the light of what is discussed at the Plans Committee and in reaction to what is heard from Mr. Michael Barker.
