CRITICAL: SUPPORT THE VILLAGE GREEN APPLICATION

Following yesterday’s post it has become known that people are firing off inappropriate emails to the Council. Please firstly read the following, as the wording used to object to what the Council are now doing is CRITICAL, SUPPORT THE VILLAGE GREEN APPLICATION

Anyone who has previously written to, or emailed, Telford & Wrekin Council in support of the Village Green application or who would like

to see the land off Station Rd retained for recreational and leisure purposes in its present form, must now write to, or email, the Council saying that they object to the proposed ‘appropriation of the land for planning purposes’ and wish to see the land retained in its present usage ideally with Village Green status. If this appropriation is approved by the Leader of the Council, it will prevent the area becoming a Village Green no matter what the outcome is of the Public Inquiry, starting on the 24th September at the Royal Victoria Hotel.

The letter or email must be with the Council no later than 4.00pm on 31 August 2012.

The letter, quoting reference EH/00847, must be sent and addressed to: Jonathan Eatough ,Assistant Director; Law, Democracy and Public Protection, Telford and Wrekin Council. Civic Offices, Coach Central. Telford TF3 4HD. Emails should be sent to lisa.eccleston@telford.gov.uk with a request that the email is acknowledged; otherwise it will not be considered or counted.

Letters/emails should also be copied to the Leader of the Council and addressed to Councillor Sahota, Leader of the Council, Telford and Wrekin Council, Civic Offices, Coach Central, Telford TF3 4WZ; or by email to kuldip.sahota@telford.gov.uk, given that he will make the final decision.

As time is short, given that the Council has allowed only 21 days for consultation when many people are on holiday, on the right are 2 cut-off slips that you can use to send to Mr Eatough and to Cllr Sahota with your name and address to the above addresses.

If more than one person in the household wishes to object please send separate copies or emails

Thanks for your continuing support.

John Rudd (Village Green Applicant)

(If emailing your objection to the Council, could you please send a copy to newportvillagegreen@gmail.com)

Dear Mr Eatough

REF: EH/00847

I wish to strongly object to the proposal to appropriate the land at Station Rd for planning purposes and believe that it should be designated a Village Green. It is important that this area of land is retained for recreational and leisure pursuits into the future and not be developed for planning purposes. I shall be supporting the Village Green application at the Public Inquiry. I am also copying this letter to the Leader of the Council.

Yours sincerely,
